Jerez. The city of the wine cellars / Jerez. La ciudad de las bodegas

The wine cellars have been basically the only industry in Jerez. This great door belong to the gardens of San Blas Palace. The owner was Pedro Domecq de la Riva  and he was also one of the owners of the Domecq Wine Cellars

Las bodegas han sido, practicamente, la única industria en Jerez. Esta fantástica puerta pertenece a los jardines del Palacio de San Blas. Su propietario fué Pedro Domecq de la Riva y él también fue uno de los propietarios de las Bodegas Domecq.

When I was a child, these cellars were in my way to the school and nowadays the image is exactly the same. 

Cuando era niña, estas bodegas estaban en mi camino al colegio y hoy en día la imagen es exactamente la misma. 

I would like you could  smell the wine, like I did while I was taking the picture. 

Me gustaría que pudieseis oler el vino, como yo mientras hacía la foto.

The owners sold the cellars to a great company and now they belong to Beam Global

Los propietarios vendieron las bodegas hace unos años a una gran empresa,

 ahora pertenecen a Beam Global

My school was very close the Cathedral that was built in the same place where was located the ancient main arab mosque. 

Mi colegio estaba muy cerca de la Catedral que se construyó en el mismo lugar donde se encontraba la antigua mezquita mayor árabe.

When you have not enough time to dedicate to the house. the reforms are eternal. We have still al lot to do but I already can share something

Cuando no hay tiempo suficiente para dedicar a la casa, las reformas se hacen eternas. Todavía nos queda mucho que hacer pero ya puedo compartir algo.

My husband has painted walls, ceiling, doors and the window. Mi marido ha pintado paredes, techo, puertas y la ventana

I have repaired the floor with white cement (a very hard work). Yo he arreglado el suelo con cemento blanco ( un trabajo muy duro)

We have changed several details and we have only purchase the headboard, the curtains and the wardrobe's crystal knobs. (I wanted to make the headboard with an old door we have but my husband wants to make a tea table, so....)

Hemos cambiado algunos detalles y solo hemos comprado el cabecero, las cortinas y los pomos de cristal del armario

(yo quería hacer el cabecero con una puerta vieja que tenemos pero mi marido quiere hacer una mesa bajita para el salón

We purchase the headboard in IKEA, but we have retained our mahogany bedside tables and the bronze lamps that my mother in law gave us as wedding present

Hemos comprado el cabecero en IKEA, pero hemos conservado las mesillas de caoba y las lámparitas de bronce que nos regaló mi suegra como regalo de boda

VÍA BUNGALOW CLASSIC

Today, I've found these images in Bungalow Classic 
and I've remembered my childhood.
We lived in an ancient mansion converted by its owners in a place with about 10 apartments.
The stairs' steps leading to the second floor where we lived where exactly like these ones, spent in the center. 


Hoy me he encontrado estas imágenes en Bungalow Clásico
y me he acordado de mi infancia.
Vivíamos en una antigua mansión convertida por sus propietarios en un lugar con unos 10 apartamentos.
Los escalones de la escalera que llevaban al segundo piso donde vivíamos eran exactamente como estos. Gastados por el centro.

There was a great kitchen abandoned in a part of the second floor near the stairs to the terrace at the top of the building.

Había una gran cocina abandonad en una parte del segundo piso cerca de las escaleras que llevaban a la azotea en la parte alta del edificio.

Even I had a cat exactly like this one, in those times.

Incluso tuve un gato exactamente igual que éste, en aquellos tiempos

And a faucet like this also.

Y un grifo así también.
