Veggies - Verduras

Have you ever visited an ecological veggies marker?
Last weekend a friend of mine invite me, Ana Mari, She makes crafts and sells them in Sunday markets and It was great.
Prices were not high at all and I found there other friends like Toni and Ana, Who have a new project THE VIOLET HEN,
They also make their own homemade bread, by the way delicious, and also sell cheese produced in the area.

This is black cabbage,
I have to say that it was the first time in my life I've seen this veggie
but yesterday night, we have a new dish for dinner: Black cabbage omelette
Very easy: saute
3 cloves of garlic in a spoonfull of olive oil,
saute the cabbage cut in small strips and add some water
When the cabbage is tender you can add it to the eggs and make the omelette

While my husband was cooking our BLACK RICE, here you are the recipe
Mientras mi marido estaba haciendo nuestro ARROZ NEGRO, aqui tenéis la receta

I was washing the great amount  of  veggies, we had bought

Cutting some parsley for my Ali-oli potatoes
Cortando perejil para las patatas ali-oli
Ingredients - Ingredientes

200 ml sunflower oil - 200 ml de aceite de girasol
1 egg - 1 huevo
1 clove of garlic - 1 diente de ajo
two tablespoons lemmon juice - 2 cucharadas de zumo de limón
Salt, Sal

Put all the ingredients in the mixer glass. Place the blender on the botton of the glass and begin to mix without moving the mixer. when you see the mixture is becoming thicker, you can begin to move the blender  and it will be done in one or two minutes

And making this tomato salad
With olive oil, Jerez vinager, salt and oregano
Y haciendo esta ensalada de tomate

We also fried some peppers
También freimos pimientos

And of course we cut some TONI'S bread from THE VIOLET HEN

It isn't necessary to say that we finished exhausted.
Have you got any plans for fall's Sundays?

Have a nice day, tomorrow is Friday!

  2. Dearest Marina,
Lovely fresh market you went to and yes, it is lovely to buy and buy more but at home you have to do something with it and that is overwhelming at times. We drive every month or so to Atlanta to stock up. It takes me some 6 hours driving back and forth, and you must put things up in the refrigerator and such. Next day do a lot of preparing...
Healthy cabbage and other things you found. Look at those huge mangoes! I envy the European prices for vegetables and fruits, looking at that green asparagus, that's a steal!
Hugs and happy weekend to you.

    1. Hi Mariette, fortunately this market was very close my village. I'm afraid I have no time to drive six hours. Do you think that those asparagus are expensive?

      Thanks for stopping by

    2. Dearest Marina,
Maybe you misunderstood, but I do envy you, that means I am jealous because of your low prices in Europe in general for fruits and vegetables. Here you pay a lot more! It is of course the huge distances that fresh produce, coming in from Florida, California or from Canada needs to be paid for as well. Europe is so small compared to that.
ENJOY it and you are lucky to have such a market nearby.
For our health food we must still drive that far because it is not available here...
      Hugs,
      Mariette
